A watch designed with exploring in mind, the Rolex Explorer stays true to Rolex’s ideology of discovery and exploration. First designed in 1953, the Explorer has changed a bit in its aesthetic over the past 68 years. This Rolex model was created with, and streamlined, through Mountaineers and Scientists.
In 1971, Rolex released the Explorer II. The new design featured a Bezel, a date display at the 3pm position and an additional 24hr hand to assist in monitoring day from night. A characteristic that can be found in other Rolex models, such as the GMT Master II.
